BOTESSA TABLE TENNIS 2020/2021 CHAMPIONS

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics student, Tshenolo Mooketsi and Advanced Diploma in Engineering student Tshegofatso Matalo recently represented the College at a Table Tennis Tournament held at BUAN. The tournament, which was sponsored by FNBB, Phoenix Assurance and Stag International was a result of a partnership between Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) and Botswana Tertiary Schools Sport Association (BOTTESA). In the male category, Tshenolo scooped position 1 winning 4-0 in the final and walked away with a cash prize of P2000 and a P300 food voucher. Tshegofatso dominated in the female category by also winning 4-0 in the final making them both the champions of the tournament.

Both these exceptional talented players started playing table tennis in high school so their love for the sport only grew stronger as they progressed academically. Speaking in an interview, when asked what advice they would give to those who wish to be champions like them in whatever sport code, Tshenolo said, “Respect yourself and respect the people around you. Start with your coaches and teachers.” Tshegofatso also remarked that, “you have to believe in yourself regardless of how tough the competition may be. Also show up for training.’’
