Mission of the NEC Library

The New Era College of Arts, Science and Technology Library exists to provide educational resources required to meet the academic and research needs of the institution to foster academic excellence.

In light of this, the Library shall provide information resources in support of the College's strategic directions in teaching, learning and research activities. Therefore, the Library remains the intellectual heart where formal and informal instructions would be conducted in the use of the library primarily to students through orientation classes.

Library Catalogue

New Era College library catalog lists all the items within a library, it is the access point between the library user and the collection. Our library uses a catalog system on a computer to search by title, author, subject, and more. Once you locate your title with the search, you'll receive the call number. From there, you proceed to the shelf to search for the material you are looking for.

Library Operating Times

Monday to Thursday: 7am - 6 pm
Fridays: 7am - 5 pm
Saturday: 9am - 2pm
Closed on Sunday and Public holidays

Objectives

  • To develop a collection of materials that support, enrich, and fulfill the curricula and research needs of the College
  • To encourage use of the Library and its facilities by the academic community.
  • To aid and instruct the library clientele in the use of the library.
  • To provide guides to the contents of the collection via portals.
  • To stay abreast of developments that offer the potential to improve services and deploy technologies that increase the ability of the library clientele.

ProQuest is a widely recognized and prominent online database and information resource provider. It offers a vast collection of academic journals, magazines, newspapers, e-books, dissertations, theses, and other scholarly content, making it a valuable tool for researchers, students, educators, and professionals. New Era College has access to this portal for all students to be able to use.
