New Era College spent the day with Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School for their annual prize-giving ceremony recognizing its top-achieving Form 4 and 5 students. Spirits were high as hundreds of students assembled together in anticipation waiting for the ceremony to begin and we were equally excited.
For the past five years New Era College has been the sole and flagship sponsor for Kgari Sechele's annual prize-giving ceremony. Today marked six consecutive years that New Era College has awarded prizes and given motivational speeches to the students. Awarding the prizes this year was the New Era College Dean of Student Services, Mrs Lydia Seletso, who also happens to be from one of the first graduating classes of Kgari Sechele.
This year, we awarded the top Math and Science students at the ceremony with electronic tablets. We are so proud of these exceptional young minds that have worked tirelessly and passionately throughout the year.
Representing New Era College was also world renowned guest speaker Dr. Alex Riazati, who is a Strategist at The Boeing Company – the world’s largest aerospace organization, in addition to a practicing psychotherapist and human rights activist from Los Angeles. A few words of advice he shared with the students is to welcome challenges and use them as opportunities to foster growth and excellence.
