New Era College Participates in The Engineering Week 2025 Hosted By ERB

New Era College was honored to be part of the just-ended Engineering Week 2025, organised by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB). The event kicked off on March 4th—World Engineering Day, where we actively participated in the celebrations in collaboration with the Engineering Council of South Africa.

Throughout the week, our faculty members showcased groundbreaking innovations and thought leadership:

Tumisang Otlaadisa, special projects coordinator from the STEM Department, presented a PET plastic recycling machine that creates filament for 3D printing, promoting sustainable technology and environmentally friendly practices. Ms Sravani Parvathareddy, Senior Lecturer, Electrical Department shared insights on AI-Driven Renewable Energy Optimization for sustainable mining practices. Professor Cheddi Kiravu, Dean of Engineering was a key panelist in a discussion on the fusion of AI disciplines, contributing to the future of engineering.

New Era College was also the proud sponsor of the first-ever Women in Engineering Breakaway Session, a landmark moment in the forum. The session was graced by Hon. Maipelo Mophuting, Assistant Minister for State Presidency, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and empowerment in the field.

We remain committed to advancing engineering excellence, sustainability, and diversity, as New Era College continues to equip future engineers with the knowledge, skills, and innovation needed to drive progress and transform industries.
