In an increasingly digital world, preparing future cybersecurity professionals requires more than classroom learning. As part of its commitment to an Industry driven Curriculum, New Era College’s first year Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security and Risk Management students recently visited MCS Security Solutions for hands on industry exposure.
Organised by the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology and the School of Computer Science, the visit brought academic concepts to life through exposure to Security Operations Centre activities, threat monitoring, phishing analysis, digital forensics, ethical hacking, penetration testing and data protection.
The delegation, comprising eight pioneer Cyber Security students and five faculty representatives, engaged with MCS Security’s executive and technical teams, gaining valuable industry insights, career guidance and a deeper understanding of workplace expectations.
Building on the College’s Memorandum of Understanding with MCS Security, the engagement also supports plans for a campus Cyber Security Laboratory, an industry-led guest lecture series starting in November 2026, and preparatory training for the 2027 Cybersecurity Hackathon.
This collaboration reflects New Era College’s commitment to strengthening industry partnerships, advancing graduate employability and preparing students to meet the evolving demands of the digital world.
At New Era College, we bridge the gap between learning and practice, developing graduates who are ready to make an impact.
